Dave started his journey in professional football at Pro Football Support as regional manager where he worked with over 30 professional football academies in England, such as Premier League Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town, conducting physical testing and providing individualised training programmes for players age 7 – 16. Dave moved on to work at FC Halifax Town where he was part of the team to set up a new academy at the club, as well as being the assistant first-team strength and conditioning coach. This role culminated in a victory in the FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium, the biggest achievement in the club’s history. In 2016 he moved to Singapore to work for ESPZEN as Senior Coach, working mainly with ages 6 – 10; Daves work resulted in the u8 age category having the most teams ESPZEN ever had at that age group. After a brief spell as Programme Manager at the end of 2017, he decided to leave the soccer school in February 2018 and join Andy in starting British Football Academy. Dave holds a BSc Sports Coaching from Leeds Metropolitan University, FA Level 2 and Youth Module licenses and comes with over 10 years of experience in working with young players.

Mark Davies from South Wales, UK. Studied Bed in Physical Education and qualified as a teacher in 1999. He had a successful football career for 30 years, playing semi-professionally and in local leagues. He first completed his level 1 coaching in 1998 and began his career in 1999 with a company called Challenger. He has worked in Texas, USA, in a number of coaching camps based in Oklahoma, Dallas, Houston and New Mexico.

Following this, he completed his UEFA C Licence Level 2 award and in 2000 he coached at Cardiff City Academy. Here he worked with elite standard children, some of whom would move on to professional football clubs. Mark worked at Cardiff for 5 years. He has recently renewed his UEFA C License so that his knowledge and skills are fully up to date.

Mark also coached his school’s u11’s football teams which have won various competitions and an u9/10/11s local semi-professional team, in which 3 players have progressed to an elite academy.

ANDY GILLESPIE

Andy coached a number of local clubs in Yorkshire before he began his journey into professional football with Barnsley FC Academy in 2012. During his 5 years at Barnsley FC, Andy worked with a range of ages between 5 – 16 at both academy and development centre level, mainly leading the u8 and u9 academy teams. During this time he completed the prestigious UEFA B license and the FA Youth Award. Alongside these, he also attended Leeds Metropolitan University where he completed a BSc Hons Degree in Sports Coaching.

In March 2017, Andy moved to Singapore to work for ESPZEN Soccer School, leading the u10 age group and working with kids as young as 4 and as old as 18. In February 2018 he decided to leave ESPZEN in order to start-up British Football Academy.

Coach Tang has been an integral part of BFA since it’s inception in 2018. A leader and a motivator Tang brings his passion and enthusiasm for football into his coaching with our kids, who don’t just have fun during his sessions but also learn too.

HEAD OF CAMPS & GIRLS FOOTBALL

Reed joined BFA as a part-time coach back in October 2020, coaching various age groups from U6 – U11s. He coached alongside Coach Dave, Andy and Mark and helping them out to run sessions for the kids. He extended his stint as a full-time football coach in April this year with BFA. He recently completed his Football Leaders Online Award with The Football Association of Wales. At the moment, he manages BFA’s social media as well besides coaching the kids.
